The name of our restaurant, Il Postino (meaning “The Postman” in Italian) is a nod to the history of the characterful Grade II building which is the former old Wells Post Office, carefully renovated to create our hospitable, happy dining space.
The building, at Market Square, Wells, is a landmark in the central conservation area of this small cathedral city, which we’re proud to call home after carrying out extensive restoration and refurbishment work with planning approval.
We welcome walk-ins, but we’re often busy so can’t guarantee you a table. It’s always best to book in advance if you want to be sure we can host you at your preferred dining time, especially during peak hours.
